This compound is an antihistamine, antiemetic, central nervous system depressant, sedative, anticholinergic, antiserotoninergic and local anesthetic. It is used in the treatment of motion sickness, cough linctuses, nausea and allergic conditions. It is used to control Parkinsonian symptoms and as CNS depressant. Used in pills, syrup, injections and suppositories. Cross: phenothiazines, ethylenediamine-HCl, para compounds, chlorpromazine HCl, tripelennamine. May produce erythema multiforme like eruptions. PA.
