Uses:
This compound is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, as an anti-emetic and as an antipsychotic in pills, injections, and suppositories. In veterinary medicine, it is used as an anti-emetic, tranquilizer and sedative. It has slight antihistaminic and antiadrenaline actions. It is a peripheral vasodilator and a depressant which blocks dopamine receptors in the central nervous system. It is also used to relieve nausea and vomiting associated with malignant diseases.
