Uses:

This compound is an anti-inflammatory agent possessing analgesic, anti-pyretic, sodium retention and mild uricosuric properties. It is used in the symptomatic treatment of acute gout and to relieve the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid spondylitis, osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. It is also used in the symptomatic treatment of acute superficial thrombophlebitis and for severe forms of a variety of acute local inflammatory conditions. It is used in veterinary medicine as an analgesic, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory agent. This compound is a synthetic pyrazolone derivative. It also occurs naturally in certain herbs.
